The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals squared off on Sunday Night Football. There should be no question as to whether these two squads could meet again in late January for the NFC Championship game. They have elite quarterbacks, premier cornerbacks and savvy head coaches. Let’s take a look at some of the vehicles driven by Seattle and Arizona players to see which team emerges victorious off the field in our Monday Night AutoBrawl.
Seattle Seahawks
Earl Thomas
Earl Thomas does it all on the field. He hits hard, grabs interceptions and rarely misses a tackle. Thomas drives around Seattle in a Bentley Continental GT. This car costs upwards of $250,000. Thomas can certainly afford it after his recent contract extension that guaranteed him $40 million across four years. He also has a Lamborghini and a Rolls-Royce Phantom to boot. That’s quite the trio of vehicles.
Thomas deserves a +5 for his flawless taste in automobiles.
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson seems like a fairly quiet and conservative guy on and off the field. If he drove a simple vehicle like a minivan, no one would be surprised. Wilson’s vehicle of choice is actually a sleek black Mercedes sport utility vehicle. His G-Class Benz features a large number 3 on the driver side door in homage to his on-field number.
Wilson earns a +3 for his surprisingly upscale ride.
Luke Willson
Luke Willson might not receive much acclaim for his play on the field but he has quietly become quite the solid NFL tight end. He catches just about everything thrown his way and he’s a decent blocker. Willson drives a beautiful Ford Mustang GT Coup Premium around Seattle. This top-of-the-line model sells for around $50,000, a modest sum for a professional football player. The Mustang GT Coup Premium is chock full of power with 435 horses, 5.0 liters and 400 pound feet of torque. It is a solid vehicle choice for a solid player.

Arizona Cardinals
Larry Fitzgerald
When the Arizona Cardinals are mentioned, your thoughts likely turn to Larry Fitzgerald. He has been in the league for over a decade and might even threaten some of Jerry Rice’s receiving records. Fitzgerald drives a red BMW 745i along with a silver Mercedes-Benz SL550. Both are quite stunning.
Fitzgerald earns an undisputed +5 in the Battle of the Rides.
Robert Nkemdiche
Robert Nkemdiche is not yet a household name but his NFL career is off to an excellent start. He drives around the sunbelt in a Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade is the perfect size for Nkemdiche’s considerable physical magnitude.
He scores a +3.
Patrick Peterson
Patrick Peterson is hands-down the flashiest player on the Cardinals. Though Peterson is noted for his coverage skills, he is also an elite punt returner. Most fans picture Peterson wheeling around in a flashy sports car. In fact, Peterson does own a sports car! He drives a Ferrari as well as an array of Chevrolets. Peterson fancies himself a car collector, owning all sorts of nifty rides.
Peterson takes it “to the house” in the Battle of the Rides with a +5.
D.J. Swearinger
D.J. Swearinger is one of the hardest hitting safeties in the game. His style of play is best characterized as punishing. Swearinger’s Ford F250 pickup truck is the perfect match for his personality and play. Though Swearinger deserves some credit for his practicality, it doesn’t earn him many points in the Battle of the Rides.
Swearinger evens out at zero.
Chris Johnson
Chris Johnson has fallen out of favor in Arizona due to the emergence of all-world running back David Johnson. Though Johnson might be at the tail-end of his playing days, he is a superstar in the Battle of the Rides. Johnson owns all sorts of vehicles including a Ferrari, a Maybach and a Can-Am Spyder.
Johnson deserves the maximum points of +5.
And the Winner is…
The Arizona Cardinals barely scrape out a victory over the Seahawks. Chris Johnson might not play many more downs for the Cardinals yet his car collection is the best in the league. Patrick Peterson’s jaw-dropping fleet of vehicles is also a major reason why the Cardinals come away with a hard-earned victory in this week’s Battle of the Rides.
