Florida is a very popular vacation destination for domestic and foreign tourists alike. Orlando alone is famed for its amusement parks, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld Orlando, which are all jam-packed with rides, productions, and attractions that are entertaining for the entire family and help them create memories that will last a lifetime.
If theme parks are not your thing, Florida also offers a never-ending coast of beaches to choose from, so you can get your tan on, build some sandcastles, or grab a surfboard and catch some waves. Miami is also very popular with its mix of Latin-American cultural influences, eclectic art scene, and booming nightlife. No matter what you are looking for, Florida has something for you.
With all that there is to see and do in Florida, the only problem for visitors would be finding a way to get around without a car (or getting a ticket then taking FL traffic school to dismiss it). Here are some tips on ways you can skip the traffic and experience Florida tourism without a car.
MAGICAL EXPRESS
If you plan on staying at the Walt Disney World resort, you don’t have to worry much because they try their best to make your trip as easy and convenient as possible. Your first concern when arriving at the Orlando International Airport would be how to get to your hotel from the airport. You are in luck because Walt Disney World offers Disney’s Magical Express. This is an airport shuttle ride and luggage delivery service, which is available for free to Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests. At your home airport, you will just need to check your luggage and it will be delivered directly from the Orlando International Airport to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel for you.
In addition, when you arrive at the airport, you will just need to make your way to the Disney Welcome Center, which is located on the Level 1/B side of the airport and they will schedule you for the next available shuttle to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Once at the resort, complimentary transportation is available to all of the Walt Disney World theme parks. You do not have to worry about fighting any traffic by checking in with the front desk about specific shuttle times.
I-RIDE
If you are not staying at the Walt Disney World resort, another convenient way to get around Orlando would be the I-RIDE Trolley. The I-RIDE Trolley is an affordable and convenient trolley bus transportation service that will take you to hundreds of destinations within the International Drive Resort area. You can access a map of the route and attractions locations through the I-RIDE Trolley website www.iridetrolley.com. The fare per ride is $2 for an adult, $1 for a child, and $0.25 for a senior citizen (65 and over). Unlimited ride passes are also available. A one day pass is $5 per person, three day pass is $7 per person, five day pass is $9 per person, and a seven day pass is $12 per person.
BIKE
If you plan on staying close to the coast or at one of the beach resorts, you may be interested in getting a beach bike rental to ride along the coast or explore the city a bit. Some options available in Miami include Bike and Roll Miami and Miami Beach Bicycle Center. For those that are more interested in the nightlife and would like to go bar hopping or explore the clubs of South Beach, the cheapest and most convenient option would be to use a rideshare service, such as Uber or Lyft. You can party as much as you would like and when you are ready to go home for the night, they will get you back to your hotel safely.
